COMMUNICATE
Always spare time in talking to your kids. No matter how busy you are with your work, it’s still recommended to give your kids a pep talk on what they want to do later in life. This way you will know what are their goals and where they wanted to be when that time comes. Keep on talking to them about education to know what interests them the most and for them to make good decisions about their future.

College may be years away or just around the corner. No matter how old or how young your kids are, it is important that they are ready for their future endeavors.

Parents may not know what their kids want to do or what they want to be in the future. Let these steps help you prepare your kids for college:

KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THEIR EDUCATION
Always follow up with them in their studies like asking them how they are doing in school or if they need your help about their home works. Try to ask them about the subjects they like and the subjects they are having a hard time with for in the future, it is always the parents in which they can get full support with.

LET THEM EXPLORE NEW THINGS
Ask them if they wanted to join some sports, music, other activities that will help them establish their own personality and develop their skills. Ask them whether they wanted to try new things. These can also help them be ready and decide on what path to choose in the future.

TEACH YOUR KIDS TO START SAVING AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE
College is expensive. Practice them to save money, teach them how to be thrifty or open up a savings account for them. This will teach them the value of saving a peso. In return, it can also help lessen your expenses.

DON’T PUSH
You should not be too aggressive about pushing your kids towards a school or a profession they do not like. Let them decide. You are there to guide them, not to pressure them. You should not be the one to decide for your kid’s course for if you do, it might just back fire at you. Parents, don’t let your kids rebel against you for deciding something they are forced to do.
